The observance of the Lord’s Supper, ordained by Christ, is an integral part of worship and a prominent part of our Christian tradition. What we experience together through this ancient rite is the reminder of our Lord’s death, the glory of His resurrection, and the hope of His promised return. The Lord’s Supper is a visible expression of unity in Christ and pictures the spiritual reality that we participate in the body of Christ
(1 Corinthians 10:16-17). By sharing the Lord’s Supper together, we represent the fact that we are one body in Christ and one with another. It’s only when we examine ourselves and recognize that God must be the object of all our focus, and that we are completely surrendered to Him will unity in the church come. Then we will see that we are truly unified in our brokenness.
